| Overview
Waste paper is a valuable source of fibre
for the paper and board industry. Worldwide, over half the fibre
used in the paper and board industry consists of secondary fibre.
Secondary fibre is any cellulose fibre which has already been
through the paper and board making process at least once.
The use of the waste paper or secondary fibre in the manufacture
of paper and board is becoming increasingly important as recycling
of waste paper is stimulated by both voluntary and mandatory
means. With its associated economic and environmental benefits,
there is a great potential worldwide for increased usage of
waste paper.
